Don't make rude or stupid comments in any thread. This is a friendly forum and you should be respectful of fellow members even if you think they are behaving badly. You can report them by using the report this post button.

Don't just say thanks when you see a post you like. Make it more informative than just 'thanks' or 'nice'. It is much better to hit the thanks button which gives the poster a rep point.

If you don't know something just ask and someone is likely to come along and help you our or send a PM with your question to one of the staff.

Read and follow the rules.

Participate in the forum by joining in a chat or adding content.

Tools ~ Media Players

You don't necessarily need these, but I find they come in real handy.

Players:

GOM Player - Play almost any video with this free player. You can easily make screen caps using this program. Play the movie, right click on it and select video, then select 'save current frame'.

VLC Player - Another great media player that will play most everything.

Quicktime Player - Not my favorite, but it works with QT format so you may want it or get QuickTime Alternative Player.

There are literally hundreds of utilities, but I am going to keep it simple.

iView - A great swiss army knife paint type program. I use it a lot to view photos, crop, resize, lighten and much more.

Flip & Rotate - Ever find a great video that was sideways and annoying to watch? Rotate it easily with this tool.

Image Hosts ~ A storage facility for all your images that you want to save and share on the forum.

With any image host that you wish to use for the forum please remember to use the bbcode for forums to paste in your thread. This will tell the forum to post thumbnails of your images so when anyone clicks on the image here it will enlarge the image to it's full size from the image host. It saves space on the forum and makes it easier for everyone to see all your images without scrolling endlessly.

I recommend you use one of these image hosts:

http://imagevenue.com/ ~ You can select larger size thumbnails with this one.
imagebam.com ~ A popular image host with easy multi upload feature.

If you want to post a link to a gallery of photos you can simply post a direct link, but it is better to code it like this .....

Do not use an image host that has annoying popups and advertising. Nobody will ever look at your stuff if you use a shitty image host.

File Hosts ~ There are lots of them and we don't have any restricions. Don't bother to use annoying file hosts because nobody will look at your stuff a second time if you do.

I recommend you use one of the following:

http://rapidshare.com/ ~ Make sure to create a 'Collector's Account' It is free! If you don't have a Premium or Collector's Account don't use this one because it only allows you to share the file 10 times and that's it. So make sure to at least set up a free Collector's account.

I hope every new member will read this thread. If not, you will probably make some errors and receive a bad. In some cases I will permanent ban members that break multiple rules as soon as they join. It is simple, read and follow the rules and you won't have any problems.
